Application Of Digital Resources for Effective Teaching and Learning in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions
Abstract
Digital resources are veritable tools for achieving effectiveness in the process of teaching and learning in Nigerian tertiary institutions. This study is a descriptive survey design research carried out in Imo and Abia States using a total of 400 Lecturers comprising of 200 Lecturers from each of the states to appraise the application of digital resources for effective teaching and learning in Nigerian tertiary institutions. Two research questions and two null hypotheses guided this study. The instrument for data collection was Research-made questionnaire titled Digital Resources for Effective teaching and Learning (DRFETL) and this was adequately validated by three experts and the reliability co-efficient obtained at 0.82 by the cronback alpha method. The mean score and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions and z- test statistics was used to test the hypotheses. It was found that application of digital resources has profound influence over the effectiveness of teaching and learning process in the various tertiary institutions in Nigeria. The study recommended among others that the government should make adequate budget in order to fund the procurement and application of digital resources so as to make it more functional and participatory in all faculties of the tertiary institutions in Nigeria
